TGC

Methodology

120 years of market history.Distilled into one disciplined workflow.

Markets reward investors who do less, but do it more rigorously. Every part of the TGC platform exists to enforce that discipline — from the country filter that decides where to look, to the AI brief that frames what to think about.

Step 1

Macro-gated universe

Every morning, our scoring engine reviews 30 countries across six pillars — growth, inflation/rates, external balance, fiscal health, equity valuation, and political risk — and produces a 0–100 composite score.

Each country lands in one of four tiers — Strong, Constructive, Neutral, or Caution. Only the top two tiers are eligible for stock screening; the rest are sidelined until conditions improve.

Why it matters: a large share of any individual stock's return is explained by its country and sector context. Picking the right environment first improves every downstream decision.

Step 2

Setups refined by history

Across more than a century of US market data, a small number of setups consistently precede outsized moves. We don't screen for everything — we screen for those.

Three setups are live today: earnings accelerators (companies showing above-trend growth in both revenue and net income), structural price breakouts (stocks emerging from multi-month consolidations on volume), and bullish reversal candles (high-conviction reversal patterns confirmed at support).

Five more setups — IPO momentum, news catalysts, insider cluster buys, short-squeeze conditions, and sector rotation — are sequenced through the year. Each ships only after the historical evidence behind it has been written up.

Step 3

AI-grounded research briefs

For every Pro and Premium ticker, Claude produces a structured brief: thesis, drivers, risks, catalysts, and bull/base/bear scenarios. The brief is built from the company's fundamentals, recent price action, and the country's macro context.

We don't let the AI score, classify or recommend — those steps are deterministic. The model's job is to put the qualitative reasoning into words, framed in probabilities rather than predictions.

Every brief is archived for five years under the same retention rules an RIA would face. Output is checked against a forbidden-phrase list (no "guaranteed", no "can't lose"). Personalised-advice patterns are flagged before the brief is shown to you.

Step 4

Discipline, not dependence

The platform shows you the work — country score, setup that fired, brief, drivers, risks, scenarios — and stops. The decision is always yours.

Premium tier adds live execution via Alpaca or IBKR for those who want to wire decisions directly to their broker. Even there, position sizing follows a fixed-risk rule with portfolio-level caps on per-ticker exposure, concurrent positions, and sector concentration.

If a setup invalidates, the platform tells you. It will never tell you whether to feel good or bad about it.

About

Built by an investor, for investors.

TGC was founded by Prakash Patel after two decades of personal investing across cycles — the 2000 bust, the 2008 financial crisis, the 2020 pandemic dislocation, and the 2022 inflation regime change. Each one taught the same lesson: macro context decides which stock-picking framework is worth running this year.

We built TGC to be the platform we wished existed during those cycles. One that gates the universe before screening it. One that surfaces only the setups that have actually rewarded patient capital over the long arc of market history. One that uses AI to summarise and frame — not to predict.

We're a research publisher today (Phase 2). We're transparent about that boundary because the line between research and personalised advice matters — both legally and ethically.

Frequently asked

Honest answers to the questions that come up first.

Is TGC a registered investment adviser?+

No — and that's intentional in Phase 2. We operate as a publisher under the Lowe v. SEC exemption, which means every subscriber in the same tier receives identical research. Personalised, fiduciary advice would require RIA registration; that's on our roadmap for Phase 3.

How is this different from a stock screener I can build in Excel?+

A screener filters; it doesn't evaluate. TGC starts with a macro filter (which countries are even worth screening this week?), runs only setups that have shown historical persistence, then layers an AI-synthesised brief that grounds each signal in fundamentals, price action, and country context.

What does the AI actually do — and not do?+

Claude writes the qualitative brief: thesis, drivers, risks, catalysts, bull/base/bear scenarios. It never computes the final score (that's deterministic) and never places a trade. Every output is archived under our five-year retention policy.

What does it cost?+

Free includes the top-10 country dashboard and a weekly digest. Basic ($99/mo) unlocks all 30 countries and the screens. Pro ($199/mo) adds AI briefs and the full company deep-dive. Premium ($499/mo) adds live auto-trading. See the pricing page for the full comparison.

Can I cancel anytime?+

Yes. Subscriptions are monthly via Stripe; cancel anytime from the Account page and you keep access until the period ends.

Will you build out the remaining five setups?+

Yes — IPO momentum, news catalysts, insider cluster buys, short squeeze candidates, and sector rotation are sequenced through the year. Each ships only after the historical work behind it is done.
